Social Distancing Means Self Discovery.

Your thoughts. Your viewpoints. Your loves. Your hates.  Hell, even your cravings at 2 AM in the morning contribute to the reason why so many of us will do almost anything to stay alive. Take this time to learn more about who you are.  You will not get it right the first couple of times because it is a game of trying and failing just to try again.  As you try, however, you will discover how awesome you really are. Then, when you are released back into this “new normal”, you will make a great difference in those you encounter.

Re-discovering My Faith.

Acknowledging one’s need to spend time studying the Word for one’s self, seeking God’s face, having a renewed prayer time, and a refreshing praise can literally safe our life. As I reflect on those elders further, I am reminded of the lessons about seeking God.  There can be light in darkness and live in the midst of death. There is a stillness and peace in the presence of the creator that I must re-discover for myself, and right now there is no shortage of time.

The 25%: Self-Reciprocity.

When attempting to be physically and mentally healthy, we tend to do things by force.  We force ourselves to exercise. We force ourselves to eat better.  If we do not find joy (not happiness…happiness is fleeting) in what we are doing, then we are never going to stick with it.  Think about it this way:  we all have a snack we enjoy no matter how we are feeling.  That snack brings us joy. It is our “go-to” when everything seems like it is out of our control.  Just like that snack brings us joy, we have to find things we want to do.  I need to find activities that will help me to be positive and productive in times of depression and despair.

Music Keep Us Sane.

Work has been easier at home when there is music to glide people from hour to hour of sitting stationary to stay safe. “I listen to music all the time.
