(ThySistas.comA lot of people think that if they reach a certain age, 30, 40, 50 – it differs from person to person – they are effectively stuck with the life they have whether they like it or not and whether they have achieved their dreams or not. It’s understandable that people should feel that way after doing things a certain way for so long, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are plain wrong. Unless you’re on your deathbed, it is NOT too late to follow your dreams and change your direction, Here’s why…

Your Identity is Always in Flux

Are you the same person now as you were when you were 10 years old? 16? 22 and just out of college? No, right? Well if that’s the case, what makes you think that you are the same person now as you were 1 years ago, last month or last week even? As humans, we are in a constant state of flux and what was not possible for us in the past may well be possible for us now. If you didn’t make it to college because you were too poor or you didn’t pursue running your own business because you had your hands full with kids in the past, don’t let that stop you now. People change and things change too and that means that following our dreams is always going to be possible eventually.

We’re All Living Longer

In the western world at least, we are all living longer than we ever did before and that means we will all have a much longer time on this planet. Do you want to spend that time miserable or unfulfilled or do you want to spend it doing something you love? You want to do what you love and follow your dreams,  right? And you have the time to do it since we’re all living far longer, right? So, really what’s stopping you?

Education is Free

Okay, so if your dream is to get a bachelors from an Ivy League college, you are going to need money, but if you want to be a computer programmer or a meditation teacher, for example, you can get most of your education for free using MOOCs online. Yes, you may need to pay some fees for exams and registration depending on what it is you want to do, but for the most part, you’ll be able to train yourself in your own time no matter how small your budget might be.

Crowdfunding is a Thing

Whether you want to attend one of the best music schools in the world to finally pursue your dream as a serious musician, you want to publish that novel that’s been sitting in a drawer for a decade or you have a great idea for a new product that you would like to launch, crowdfunding presents you with an excellent opportunity to get the means to do so. People can be very generous online and you might just be pleasantly surprised!

Stop making excuses and start living your best life right now – you’re the only one who’ll regret it if you don’t. Dreams can come true, but you need to act to make that happen.
