(ThySistas.com) We are a combination of what we think, feel and eat. Food has the ability to be our medicine if we are willing to allow nature to nurture and sustain us. We exercise our bodies for optimal physical health, we read to stimulate our mental health, we pray or meditate for our spiritual health but we rarely speak of our vaginal health until an issue arises. As with every part of our body, our vagina requires nurturance, love, care and maintenance.

In this article we will discuss foods that nurture, cleanse and strengthen our vagina so that we do not need douches, vaginal wipes and harsh fragrances.

1. Cranberries. Fresh cranberries help to prevent and relieve the symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) because cranberries help to acidify your urine which fight the bacteria that causes UTI. Cranberries also balance the pH level in the vaginal area.

ACV can be taken orally each day or used in the bath to relieve vaginal irritation.

7. Salmon. Omega-3 fatty acids promote heart health, helps to alleviate allergies and provides a daily value of vitamin D. Salmon also helps blood circulation overall and in the vagina which is good for sexual arousal. A recent study suggests that women who have a diet that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids are 22% less likely to develop Endometriosis as opposed to women who didn’t.
