When It All Falls Down: Overcoming Obstacles.

(ThySistas.com) Difficulties are a natural part of life. If the life experience was reduced to a workout program, obstacles would be concerned strength training. Anytime we begin a workout regimen its recommended that we strength train with an amount of weights that is difficult to life yet possible to complete successfully. Obstacles in life come at a similar pace. Often times they are the most difficult we’ve faced thus far however, if we continue to train and move through with perservance the results will amaze us.

Nothing worth having comes with ease. That which we haven’t put our blood, sweat and tears into will hold the ranks with that which was given to us. When we don’t put our energy and sacrifice into a situation, we often devalue it.

In the same breath, going thru obstacles we question whether we’re moving towards something we desire or being punished for a wrongdoing. We may even question if we truly want to proceed on the path that’s causing us so much distress and anguish. We may even question its value! It’s all a part of the process to see where your loyalty, faith and determination lies.

4 Ways to Overcome Obstacles In Life

1) Realize Every Pain Ain’t Sufferring. Many times, we confuse discomfort with suffering and remove ourselves from the experience just before the relief comes. Shoes made of certain material may fit snug until worn and broken in, after which they feel as though you’re walking on air. A shirt may feel stiff and uncomfortable until we’ve worn it out a time or two, then it begins to fit like any other body part. Anything “new” to the individual experience will be uncomfortable until you’ve adjusted to the fit. Give yourself time to distinguish between excruciating pain and mild, temporary African American woman leaning against treediscomfort. Like we say in strength training “learn to enjoy the burn, its how you get results”.

2) Understand You’re Near The Peak. Obstacles generally come about when we’re approaching the finish line. The last one will be the most difficult and require the most faith to move through yet it will be the most rewarding of them all. See this as confirmation that the goal is within reach and move forward! You’ve been through too much to give in now.

3) Acknowledge the Test. It is a test to see how bad you want it and what you’re willing to do for it. Will you increase your faith? Will you rise to the occasion? Will you accept defeat? Will you give up on yourself? Will you sacrifice your values and morals? Will you revise your plan? Will you work harder? The purpose is to see what the obstacle will bring out of you. Pay attention to what each obstacle reveals about you, your character and your faith.

4) Reevaluate the Path You’re On. Review the last 6-12 months of your life. Make a list of things you have learned and the benefits of each. List the obstacles you’ve faced and how you overcame them. Make note of things you feel you need to work on within. What are you most passionate about? Some obstacles block our path only because we’re moving in the wrong direction. Are you settling upon a path you hate because you subconsciously feel you aren’t worthy or capable to fully live your dreams.
