(ThySistas.com) What is that you want to do with your life? Have you looked up to find that you don’t like your job, fight just to make ends meet, you are surviving but you aren’t living, and happiness is at an all time low? If might be time to head in a different direction. Today we spend far too much time trying to fight to get to a certain place in life or the sake of saying “I have arrived”. Sometimes we get there only to find out we have entered a perpetual state of living hell. Even if the hell makes decent money the quality of living is poor because there is no happiness one can muster. If you meditate on it, you might be able to imagine doing something you love. Maybe, it’s a different career path, a different city, or living in a different country. As long as you can think, move, and wake up each day you can decide it’s time to work towards something different. Granted, this move might not be easy, but it will be worth whatever challenges may arise.

If we study our history we will see that many of our people were successful at many different things. Very rarely did the people in our communities do one thing. When living under Jim Crow with limited access various jobs had to be done with limited bodies. This allowed our ancestors to never really have a dull moment as they saw their creativity manifest itself in so many ways. Allow that to be a motivation to you. You might be an English professor that woke up and decided to become an engineer.

You might live in a particular part of the country and have been there all of your life, but you desire to experience different places and cultures. Maybe you are an attorney with the desire to be a hair stylist. The bottom line is it is never too late to start over or move in a different direction. Some spaces will be a complete 180, while others be doing the same thing in a new location. Whichever it is get your journal and begin to map out what you desire your life to be. Put into writing what you see on the canvas of your imagination and let that vision fuel you no matter what anyone says.

About others, yes there will be naysayers. Sometimes the people you love the most will claim to support you while their words will come off as backhanded and discouraging. Sometimes there will be subconscious jealousy because you are stepping out on faith to do something maybe they wish they could. If only they realize just as you don’t have barriers…neither do they. Regardless of where the negativity comes from, stay focused on your vision.

No one has the right to take that away from you, and they can’t if you don’t allow such. Starting over, and manifesting this new direction is you taking ownership of your life, and your quality of living. Those that exist in fear never have the opportunity to live. This doesn’t have to be you. If you are tired of what you are doing and seeing everyday in your life begin the process of changing it. It won’t happen overnight, but you will be on your way to a life in which you are happy and fulfilled.
