(ThySistas.com) Have you heard of the infamous technological wall? This is a theoretical point in progress where technological advances can go no further. The good news is we’re not going to hit it anytime soon. Here are just some of the ways tech will change our world over the next two decades.

Level 4

You will no doubt have heard of autonomous car technology. You’ve probably even seen a few of the vehicles that are available to purchase right now. While this tech is undoubtedly impressive, it’s important to realize that this isn’t truly autonomous. Not yet anyway. But it will be in the future. In the next two decades, we will reach level 4 autonomous tech. With these vehicles, there’s no need for anyone to be sitting behind the steering wheel. These cars are coming to the road and will happen sooner than you think. It won’t just be cars either. Expect trucks, planes and buses to all run without the need for drivers.

Machine Learning

Forget artificial intelligence. Machine learning is far more exciting and could have incredible consequences for our world. We might hit a technological wall before we establish truly sentient AI that we have seen countless times in science fiction. It’s possible that there will be robots in the homes but they’ll be the next step on from Alexa. Machine learning though – that’s different. While right now, it’s being used for basic processes who knows what the future could hold? This could be the key to discovering the cure to cancer or answering questions that have plagued mankind for generations. Incredibly these answers could be developed in a matter of seconds by creating virtual environments and running billions of scenarios all at once.

Mega Cities

Two decades from now, sixty percent of the world population will be living in megacities. These are massive, sprawling urban developments that stretch across countless miles. London, Paris, Dubai, all these cities are going to expand, reaching out into surrounding areas. What does this mean? Well, there are some concerns about the impact this could have on health as well as the quality of life. But don’t worry because tech is changing things there too with smart cities.

Smart cities are designed to improve how we work, play and live in these environments. One of the main features is the smart roads. These are designed to ensure that you don’t have to worry about getting stuck in traffic for hours on end while the biophilic design will always likely be a major part of these areas.

Travel Points

Finally, travel is one of the factors that has been shaping our world for decades and generations. First, we learned to travel the ocean, then came the steam engine. Today there are planes and cars. Each time a new form of transport is introduced it causes a fundamental shift in how the world and industries operate. It disrupts every major business you can think of and it’s going to happen again, sooner than you think.

Recently, Elon Musk announced his plans for rocket crafts that would be able to travel from New York to London in just a couple of hours. Just imagine being able to take a day trip to another side of the world. Well, soon you may not have to imagine. This type of tech could be introduced into our world within the next two decades. Forget Branson’s tourism trips to the stars. This is what’s going to completely alter the way we see the world.
