(ThySistas.com) At one point and time we may wish for more mental clarity. So many of us want this thing called mental clarity. What is it and how do we get it?
As we get older our memory may become a little fuzzy, decision making may become slightly more difficult and if you’re like me my thoughts seems to be all over the place.
However, I’ve discovered 5 key ways to gain mental clarity without medication.
- Avoid taking drugs unless they are essential to your physical and/or mental health when possible.
There are so many over the counter and prescription drugs that were created to help us, but sometimes they end up hurting us. Instead some people have chosen to use herbs as a substitute. It has been said that Holy Basil enhances cerebral circulation and improves memory. It reduces unclear thinking and mental fogginess.
Studies show that what you eat can help you to stay more alert, retain more energy, be more creative and think more clearly throughout the day. By eating certain foods you can feel more focused and alert, even if you are not a morning person.
For instance including polyunsaturated and omega-3 fats in your diet helps to clear your brain’s waste and prevent it from feeling sluggish.
- Get Regular exercise.
Exercise plays a great role in gaining the mental clarity that you want to possess. Not only does exercise improve your body, it helps your mental function. Exercise increases energy levels and increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity.
- Prayer and Meditation
When you meditate you gain an inner stillness. The simple act of meditating allows you to be quiet and to become still. Meditating decreases your stress levels, which in turn causes decision making to become easier. When you are less stressed you are slower to react and better at responding.
- Ask for help.
Sometimes we may need assistance from friends, family or professionals when we trying to figure things out. Help is available when you need it from a number of sources, so take advantage of it. Sometimes asking someone who’s clear about their path to assist you can be a great help.
Keep in mind that gaining mental clarity is still your job. Don’t look for others to magically drop the answer in your lap. The person you choose for assistance should be a good guide, a listening ear and someone who can draw out and suggest options that may work for you. However, creating mental clarity is something you have to do in the end.
