(ThySistas.com) During the pandemic, a lot of people are forced to stay at home. Being at home means having to prepare your own food. But unless you are really passionate about cooking, preparing food might be a burden. However, opting for a pizza delivery might not be the healthiest solution. So if you’re hungry but a bit lazy, here are some pantry snacks you can prepare at home:
Healthy Overnight Oats
This is the basic, but the healthiest pantry snack that you can prepare in minutes. You simply have to choose your flavor combination and mix it with oats and milk. You can make it more flavorful by adding fruits such as berries and bananas or make it healthier by combining other staple foods such as chia and flax seeds. You can also prepare it ahead of time, store it in a fridge, and grab it as your on-the-go snack.
5-Minute Mac & Cheese
If you’ve been craving for cheese and pasta, this 5-minute mac & cheese will surely satisfy your cravings without having to wait for extended hours. Just add the macaroni pasta, milk, and cheese in a microwavable mug or bowl. Add a pinch of salt and pepper and microwave for 2-3 minutes. Stir and microwave for another minute. Add a sprinkle of chives and enjoy!
Cheesy Quesadilla
Another way to satisfy your cheese cravings is to make some cheesy quesadillas. All you need are tortillas wraps, cheddar cheese, butter, and sour cream. You can also add some diced onions and jalapeños if you want it spicy. Begin it by melting the butter onto a pan. Place the tortilla on top and add the cheddar cheese, onions, and jalapeños. Make sure that the cheddar cheese is shredded for it to melt easily. Then, place another tortilla wrap on top. Flip it after 2-3 minutes or until the tortilla turns golden brown. Flatten it with your spatula and check if the cheese had melted. Plate it then serve with a sour cream as a dip.
Potato Croquettes
Let’s skip that french fries and opt for something new. Potato croquette is mashed potato and fries rolled into one. To make these, boil some potatoes and turn it into 4 cups of mashed potatoes. Combine it with milk, 2 tablespoon milk, 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1 egg, and a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Scoop a mixture and roll it into a ball. You can also put some cheese cubes inside if you prefer. Dip the potato ball in egg and bread crumbs. Fry in a medium heat until golden brown. Drain the excess oil with a paper towel and serve with your favorite garlic mayo or ketchup.
Fresh fruits and vegetables
If you’re too lazy to cook, nothing beats fresh fruits and vegetables. Grab that fruit in the fridge and enjoy eating it raw or peeled. Or if you have some carrots or cucumbers, cut it into sticks and eat it raw or with your favorite condiment. Fruits and vegetables, aside from being a refreshing snack, are packed with vitamins and minerals that we need in keeping ourselves strong and healthy.
