(ThySistas.com) Sisters when it was time to vote we came out in large number against Donald Trump. It was not just a matter of Hillary Clinton being so much better of a candidate, but many of us agreed she was more prepared than Donald Trump. With that being said Hillary Clinton lost the election, and our white sisters did not turn out for her in the manner we thought they would. The bottom line is as American citizens we do have the right to disagree with our government. A black people we passionately disagree with our country regularly. No matter how we feel about the matter on Friday January 20, 2017 Donald J Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. Many of us are still in shock or simply angry.

We are sitting back watching a cabinet be formed of people that have no knowledge of how to do the job they are being appointed to. The selection for Attorney General, which heads the Justice Department, is a known racist. It’s no secret that the Russian’s had a hand in this election, but Trump wants us to turn a blind eye and look to him. Honestly, even if it were nothing personal he is still unfit to be President of the Unites States of America.

Now more than ever we must come together, organize and take a stand. At times it can be hard because some of us want to see what foolishness will happen next. If we had to judge what a Donald Trump administration was going to be based on what we know now…we’d have to say drama laden. This is a problem because sisters we are used to being drawn in by drama. Think about it…how many of us watch shows religiously that are detrimental to the movement of our people. Even if we don’t carry on in the manner we see on reality TV we give ratings to shows that set us back as a people.

On January 20, 2017 let’s resolve to turn our TV off. Let’s resolve ourselves to NOT watch the Presidential Inauguration. We did not vote for this man, and over 3 million Americans did not vote for this man. We must turn our backs as he is sworn in to an office that be very well may destroy. He doesn’t seem, at this point, to understand the gravity of the office he is about to take. We must, as we did at the polls, not support this illegitimate leader. Donald Trump questioned President Obama regarding his birth certificate, but he is truly unfit on so many levels.

It just may drive Donald Trump mad that he is won’t get the ratings he wants. Instead of watching him let’s channel our energy into our community building work. Sister, we will need each other more than ever these next four years. We must stand with our Brothers to strengthen each other, and our children. We can’t depend on the government to assist in the building of a people they are hell bent on keeping down. Our voice was established when we turned out against Trump on election day. Let’s take this further; ignore his inauguration to send him a message that we are not satisfied.
