In reply to Rosanna. Sister Rosanna I enjoyed your comment and I grew up in the South Bronx and when we saw sisters with the proportioned rear it was a welcome site. I don't know about those brothers that you came in contact with but they have forgotten their heritage of black women. That is who they are, shapely and curvy at every angle. I am so glad to be a black man and see my black sisters looking naturally good no matter what complexion they are. Dark skin woman are so beautiful, look at Ms. Tika Sumpter, Ms. Lupita Nuyong'o and Ms. Viola Davis, all beautiful Black Women. I apologize for the brothers who thought less of you because there was so much more of you. Truth of the matter they probably could not of handled you on all levels of society and relationships so you were better off. Stay bless of the LORD my Nubian Princess.

I am 49, a medium-dark complexioned Black woman, 5’7″, 166 pounds and have a 41 inch butt. In high school and college, Black men preferred women who approximated European standards of beauty. They did not like me. I was insults all the time by Black men and women for looking like Aunt Jemima. Men my age preferred light skinned women with flat butts like Vanessa Williams, Jasmine Guy and Lisa Bonet.

Most Black guys put down Janet Jackson and Robin Givens.
Even today when you read the Black men’s magazines like Smooth and Black Men, you will see that most of the women featured are light-skinned with butts no more than 38 inches.
The butt craze is a fad as you say. These magazines appeal to the middle class and affluent demographic.

Black men do not like big butts unless they were from the ghetto. Progressive Black men prefer women who are racially mixed.
