The Trip of a Lifetime.

(ThySistas.com) “Life is a journey worth jumping on for the ride.”

Man this thing called life can be a real trip. That trip can be the vacation from hell or it can be paradise. Whatever it is, in the end you are the one that will ultimately decide what type of trip you will have. If you’re looking to have a horrible time then you will. If you’re looking to have the time of your life then you will.

Basically I’m saying you can make the best of what you experience or you can look for all the negative things that happen along the way. I choose to kick the latter to the curb.

It amazes me that some people are so negative all the time they don’t even realize it.  If the sun is shining and it’s 70 degrees they will look at that one little bitty cloud in the sky and tell you that it’s about to storm.

A person will complain about having to go to work and pay bills, instead of saying thank you that I am blessed to have a job in order to pay the bills that I have.

I understand this because I once was the same way. I remember when things would go wrong I would whine and say, “What’s going to happen next?” Or “why me?” But here’s the best one, “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

Now I dare not let that kind of talk leave me mouth. I will admit one day I almost let it slip out, but I caught myself quick. I mean literally I cringe when I hear others say it. But it takes time. Hey it took me years and I’m still not there yet.

I would look for something bad to happen. I held that frame of mind for years until I hit 40. Then something changed. I can’t even tell you when it changed; I just know that I went from constantly thinking negative to working hard at thinking positive.

No I am not always positive and yes I sometimes complain. But I can tell you this. I am better at recognizing it and stopping it. I have to look around and realize that it ain’t all that bad. Actually it could be a lot worst.

So on this trip called life while we are here I think we should make the best of it. Instead of frowning why don’t you try smiling more? Trust me it won’t hurt you and I bet you’ll feel better along the way.
